Mama Jacq’s mission is to serve fantastic Caribbean street food which evokes a nostalgic feeling as well as showcase the different dishes from the Islands
the brief
The Mama Jacqs brand started in Watford in 2013 as makers of authentic Caribbean sauces. The brand has evolved over the years, moving from sauces to serving high-quality Caribbean street food at markets in London and is now a popular destination at Box Park Wembley.
Mama Jacqs is a family-run business. Chantal, her brother and mother (Mama Jacqs) were all born on St Vincent and are all very hands-on. A key component of the brand is the experience of Caribbean hospitality and how great food always brings people together. A sense also developed that food should always be about celebration - not just celebrating get-togethers but also ingredients, cooking techniques and the vibrant Caribbean heritage.
Having moved to Brooklyn, New York, in the late 1990’s, then on to London, the family is very proud of their history and culture. In the early 2000’s the UK became home and merged London with Caribbean culture, becoming one.
Mama Jacq’s mission is to serve fantastic Caribbean street food which evokes a nostalgic feeling as well as showcase the different dishes from the Islands. Each and every dish is lovingly prepared as if the diner was eating in Mama Jaq’s home.
What we did
The brand has been built on a number of different values. These are an extension of the family behind the brand, as well as their shared heritage, passion for hospitality and great cooking
Building on their success as well as their loyal following, there are big plans for the business, including more permanent locations. Therefore, Chantal wanted to evolve the look and feel to better represent the business, communicating their story throughout their brand touchpoints.
