The vast majority of Japanese restaurants in London are a little on the stuffy side, places with minimal and conservative interiors and branding. In short, although the food is generally very good, the restaurants and brands themselves are boring.
The Brief
The brief, therefore, for a new Japanese restaurant near Marylebone station was for a fun, original brand with a distinctive look and feel. When researching names of Japanese restaurants, we were struck by just how many were difficult to pronounce and weren’t memorable at all.
The Strategy
Our creative team have always loved Manga, so they leapt at the chance to create a stunning brand built on its style. The name just jumped out and stuck immediately. As part of the restaurant branding work, we created all brand touch points, including the menu, drinks list, posters, flyers and website. The launch marketing campaign was wide-reaching in its scope and focused on Google AdWords, Local SEO, Booking Platforms, Flyering outside Marylebone station and Media Relations.
